This piece captures the mola mola sunfish rising from deep, cold waters toward drifting jellyfish as rays of light break through the surface above. Learning how the sunfish descends into darkness to feed, only to return upward to warm itself in the sun, made me fall in love with this creature. It reflects that daily and dangerous journey, serving as a reminder that even when we must descend into the deep, warmth and light are waiting when we rise again.
